How Do I Manage Grief?
Something unthinkably sad has happened. The passing of a loved one. An accident. The loss of a long-term relationship. These can all result in emotional pain that can last weeks, months or even years and sometimes lead to depression. The emotional and physical toll of complex grief can be unbearable at times. What can we do to best manage our feelings?
Grief is a challenging and complex emotion. It’s important to take the time to process your feelings in a healthy way. Leverage your positive coping skills and resources to let out what you’re experiencing and start to heal. Examples include journaling, exercise, taking with family and loved ones, music, attending support groups, having sessions with mental health professionals, and many more.
