I practiced commercial and residential real estate law in Manhattan for six years. My experience ranged from private practice, to working at a small firm representing individuals and small companies, to working at one of the largest law firms in the world on billion dollar corporate deals with real estate components. A typical weekday work schedule at the big firm was 9:00am to 9:00pm, plus more time on weekends. When it got very busy, I was on call 24/7. Not exactly good for your mental health. Here’s one experience I want to share with you. When I was at the big firm, there was a partner who had been working 24 hours a day for two days straight ... ...
