What Are Some Benefits of Therapy?

If you’ve never been in therapy, you may be asking yourself why you should now? It’s understandable. Telling a total stranger all your personal concerns, difficulties and joys can be uncomfortable for many.
You may feel that you don’t need therapy because you have a strong support system of family and/or friends. If you have those resources, they are valuable and can provide you with the ability to bounce ideas off of or just vent your frustrations of the day.

But what if that’s not enough? What if you’re concerned you’re burning out your support system because you talk with them every day about the same issues? That’s where seeing a therapist can be helpful.
Your support system is there for you, but they inevitably are subjective. That’s because they have historical knowledge of your experiences, your personality and other aspects about you. A therapist is objective and gets to know you from your first session. There’s no extensive background of information to potentially color observations. This allows the therapist to examine, analyze and work with you from a fresh perspective. Progress can be made with this skilled and trained clinician in a more productive and expedient way.

I invite you to take the first step and call me (302) 273-0700 or email me to find out more during our free consultation.
